Introduction to Mousey’s Music- Why Even Bother

The decision to start my own music blog was not madeover night. It has always been something I wanted to do, but for some reason or another I lacked the confidence to do.

Which looking back now is completely ridiculous. I’ve always loved music. I’ve always loved talking about music, so why not?

Now more than ever it feels important to rid myself of this anxiety I have over trying and failing. Because in this case success isn’t the goal. A platform to express my passion is. To research and discuss a topic I find fascinating and enjoyable with likeminded people; The Culture surrounding music in Ireland.

We in Ireland are a proud bunch. And there is nothing I take more pride in than seeing Irish musicians achieving success and promoting our rich culture. Certain acts over the years have really captured what it means to live in modern Ireland.

Genres that were once unrelatable to Irish people are now entirely accessible to our way of life. Its an incredibly exciting time for Irish music and it feels important for me to be apart of it.

The raw talent that is being produced in Ireland is finally getting the recognition it deserves, for its unique sound and subject matter.

I’m really excited about starting this blog, and what I can learn from it. What I can add to the discussion.

There is plenty of content on the way from opinions to news, and updates on gigs and events happening all over Ireland.
